On behalf of my faculty members and staff, it is my pleasure to welcome you to University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET). UIET was founded by the then Vice-Chancellor Prof. S.S. Katiyar in 1996 with 4 Engineering branches and with a total capacity of 240 students. Today in 2018, around 2072 students study in various programs namely: B.Tech (Computer science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology and Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering), M.Sc. Bioinformatics, M.Sc. Electronics, Bachelor in Computer Application, Master in Computer Application. I am happy to inform that from this year we have started two new courses: M.Sc. Industrial Chemistry, M.Sc. Applied Mathematics. There are 12 departments in the institute and each department has well furnished laboratories and classrooms. There are around 89 full time faculty members and 49 technical assistantsin the institute. Over the years, there has been continuous progress in academic activities and infrastructure facilities to keep the institute at par with other technical institutes. A new building UIET-4 equipped with spacious laboratories, class rooms, seminar rooms etc. has come up this year for Computer Application department and chemistry department. Many new laboratories have been set up in each department through RUSA (Rashtriya Uchchtar Shikscha Abhiyan).
Our primary mission is to empower our students with latest subject knowledge, effective communication skills and co-operative behavior. Our experienced and highly qualified faculty members nurture our students academically by using state of the art syllabus and by following standard books in their area. Our institute provides opportunities to students so that they can grow in all areas of life. We are proud of our alumni who have been working with academic institutions, industries, public sector units, Indian army, etc. all over the world.Every member of our institute works hard to make the institute better day by day and I am sure our new students will be able to take it to even newer heights.
